Hiram Murray "Murt" White, son of Simpson and Hester Dugan White, was born at Lostant, Ill., on Nov. 5, 1875. Death after a long illness came to him early Tuesday morning, Feb. 12, 1952, at his home in Clarion. He was the fifth child of a family of seven of whom two sisters and two brothers, Belle, Dolly, William and Lewis preceded him in death. Mr. White grew to manhood at Lostant, then moved with the family to Wright county in 1896 where he engaged in farming. He was united in marriage with Cora Rumford Dec 25, 1901. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Sam Bauman (Hattie) and Mrs. Ed Yocum (Edna), and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian church Thursday afternoon, Rev. R. H. Ralston officiating. Burial was made in the Clarion Evergreen cemetery.
