15 March 1903 -- 29 April 1980

Services for Hugh Harris, 77, 604 11th Ave. N., will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Bruces Memorial Chapel with the Rev. John Riebhoff, pastor, and the Rev. Dr. Harvey Nelson, associate pastor, of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Harris died Tuesday afternoon at Trinity Regional Hospital, where he had been a patient since Saturday. Surviving are his wife, Anne; son, Jerry Harris, Syracuse, N.Y.; two grandchildren; brothers, Russell, Council Bluffs; Glen, Fort Dodge; Guy, Otho; Evan, Duncombe; sisters, Mrs. Blanche Hiveley, Mrs. Virgil (Ruby) Young and Mrs. Rachel Wilson, all of Fort Dodge.

Hugh Harris was born in Woolstock and moved to Lawrence, Ill., as a child with his family. He attended school there, later moved to Webster County in 1919 and farmed in the Duncombe area. In 1935 he married Anne Brown at Webster City. Following their marriage they lived in Duncombe. The moved to Fort Dodge in 1945. Mr. Harris was employed at Geo. A. Hormel & Co., Fort Dodge, for 34 years, retiring in 1967. He was a foreman in the meat curing department. Mr. Harris was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
