Selma Pauline Thompson, 95, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley. Selma was born March 26, 1909, to Sam and Petra Handeland Steensland. On Feb. 2, 1927 she was united in marriage to Milford C. Thompson in Dows. To this union was born two sons, LaVern of St. Charles, Mo., and Larry D. of Cambridge. Selma is survived by LaVern and Linda and Larry and Judith Thompson; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Freda DeWitt of Ames. Selma was preceded in death by her husband, Milford; six brothers; three sisters; and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church. Memorials may be designated to Fjeldberg Lutheran Church. Soderstrum Riis Funeral Home in Slater is in charge of arrangements.
