Funeral services for Myrna E. Jorth, 61, of Ceylon, Minn., were Monday, Aug. 12, at the Lakeview Funeral Home, Fairmont, with burial following at Lake Belt Township Cemetery near Ceylon, Minn. Mrs. Jorth died Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 6, 2002, at the Franciscan-Skemp Health Care Center in La Crosse, Wis.

Myrna Elizabeth Karnis was born Dec. 30, 1940, in Lake Park, the daughter of Michael and Helen (Bambsey) Karnis. She grew up in Lake Park, graduating from Lake Park High School in 1958. Myrna was united in marriage to Ray Jorth on Feb. 28, 1959, in Lake Park. They made their home in Terrill, later moving to Woolstock, Lacona and Whittemore. In 1981, they moved to Ceylon, Minn. Myrna worked for the Bell Motel and Teledyne Aerospace Systems Company in Fairmont, Minn. She was then employed by Schultz Butcher Plant in Ceylon, Minn. She was active in Girl Scouts, Federated Women's Club and Nassen-Detert American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Myrna took pride in community events.

Survivors include her husband, Ray Jorth of Ceylon; two daughters, Liz Heffernan and her husband, Walt, of Chicago, Ill., and Sue Jorth of Oakland, Calif.; two grandsons; two brothers, Michael Karnis and his wife, Anna Marie, of Tucson, Ariz., and Dr. Eugene Karnis and his wife, Twyla, of Alexandria, Minn.; two sisters, Geneva Kuehl of Lake Park, and Shirley Beck and her husband, Leo, of Jackson, Minn.; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Myrna was preceded in death by her parents.
