March 10, 1953 --- April 19, 2002

RENWICK - Funeral service for Jeffrey Chris Schneider of Renwick was held Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. in the United Methodist Church at Renwick with the Rev. Karen Dearchs officiating. Interment was in the Vernon Township Cemetery in rural Hardy, the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home of Renwick in charge of arrangements. Casketbearers were Kirk Swanson, Hal Skiye, Roger Markman, Roger Sander, Ron Eekhoff, Larry Haverly, Jerome Kohlhaas and Rich Lowe. Honorary bearers were Everyone Who Called Jeff "Friend."

The son of Christoph Henry and Mary Alice (Davis) Schneider, Jeffrey Chris Schneider was born March 10, 1953, at Fort Dodge. He was a 1971 graduate of the Boone Valley High School at Renwick. On June 5, 1976, he was married to Amy Amerson in the United Methodist Church at Renwick and the couple lived on the family farm west of Renwick where he farmed, did mechanic work and aerial spraying. He also drove a semi truck. Through the years, he enjoyed camping, horseback riding with his family at Brushy Creek, hunting and fishing. He loved to fly and spent many years doing so privately and commercially; he enjoyed the sport of stock car racing and hanging out with his friends.

Jeff died at the farm west of Renwick Friday, April 19, (2002) at the age of 49. Surviving are his wife, Amy; daughter, Jennifer; and son, Jarrett, all of Renwick; his mother, Mary Alice Schneider, Renwick; sisters, Debra Berkenes and husband, David, of Mishawaka, Ind., Julie Bailey, and husband, Matt, Des Moines, and Joni Poutre of Wayne, Neb.; and his mother-in-law, Marien Amerson of Webster City. Other survivors include an aunt and uncle, Laura Maxine and Lloyd Stevenson, Goldfield, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding him in death were his father and grandparents.
