Elizabeth "Betty" Johanna Fetrow, 97, of Belen, New Mexico, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2011. Betty was born on June 15, 1914 in Boyden. She married her high school sweetheart, George, on January 10, 1934 in Belmond. She spent her first years of married life being a homemaker, raising three children in northern Iowa. As the children grew older she worked as a church secretary and as a retail sales clerk. Betty became an avid antique collector and seller along the California coast during her and George’s retirement years. She and George loved to travel in their Airstream camper around the United States. After moving to Belen, Betty enjoyed feeding and watching the many birds in her back yard. Up until George’s death, the couple could be found dancing at the senior centers in Belen and Albuquerque.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Aileen Joyce in 1952; and her husband on December 1, 2011. Survivors include her son, Richard Lee Fetrow of Waldport, Oregon; daughter, Carol Joan Geihs of San Luis Obispo, California; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Arrangements were handled by the Noblin Funeral Service in Belen.
