George Albert Fetrow, 97, of Belen, New Mexico, died on Thursday, December 1, 2011. George was born on December 22, 1913 in Belmond. He started his working career in retail sales and operated his own businesses in north central and northwest Iowa. He joined Mutual of Omaha Insurance as a salesman in 1955. George stayed with Mutual for 24 years, retiring as director of sales training in the San Francisco office. George was always busy with a hobby of some sort, from candy making to woodworking. Until his death, he and Betty could be found dancing three to four times a week in the Belen and Albuquerque Senior Centers.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Aileen Joyce in 1952. Surviving family members are his wife of 77 years, Betty; sister, Jean McNulty; son, Richard Lee Fetrow of Waldport, Oregon; daughter, Carol Joan Geihs of San Luis Obispo, California; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Arrangements were handled by the Noblin Funeral Service in Belen.
