Mabel Irene Bohy, the daughter of Walter and Vera (Dewey) Wilcox, was born December 28, 1908 in Woolstock, Iowa, a direct descendent of the first settlers in Wright County. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth. On January 3, 1925, Mabel was united in marriage with Henry Lewis Bohy at the Webster City Methodist Parsonage and to this union two children were born: Donnabelle and Jerald. The couple made their home in Woolstock until moving to Eagle Grove in 1953 due to Henry's health. Henry passed away on November of 1953. Mabel worked at Wilson's in Eagle Grove, Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge, Lewright's Lockers and Rotary Ann Nursing home in Eagle Grove. Mabel was a member of the Open Bible Church in Eagle Grove upon its closing she joined the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove.

There are many wonderful things we will remember about Grandma Mabel but mainly for her love for us, her pretty smile and we'll never forget her kringlas made with lard.

Mabel passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove, at the age of 102 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry; son, Jerald Bohy in July 2007; daughter, Donnabelle McCollough in December 2010 and four sisters, Reva Parrish, Bertha Loux, Beulah Sheriff and Hazel McCollough. Survivors include her grand-daughters, Donna Madson and husband Stan of Eagle Grove, Jan Tincher and husband Larry of Forest City and Ronda Cantu and husband Andy of Garland, TX; grandsons, Travis Bohy and Joyce of Eagle Grove and Anthony Bohy of Tampa, FL; daughter-in-law, Danna Thielen of Eagle Grove; 13 great-grandchildren; 22 great great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 26, 2011, 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Mike Agnew officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Troy Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
