Valetta “Bobbie” Lorraine Jones was born January 20, 1920, to William and Luella (Hartman) Rifen in Wright County, IA. She grew up and attended school in Eagle Grove, IA and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1937. She worked as a secretary for Governor Blue for three years. On January 1, 1939, she married Leonard Jones at Fairmont, MN. They lived in Dayton, OH and moved to Rapid City in 1942. In 1946, they moved to Winner, SD where she was the office manager for the Federal Land Bank for thirty-one years. They lived in Winner for fifty-nine years until moving to Mitchell in 2005. She was a member of the Winner United Methodist Church in Winner, and the First United Methodist Church in Mitchell.

She is survived by one son, Rodney “Rocky” Jones and wife, Mabel of Mitchell, two grandchildren, Kaylynn Koch and husband, Glenn of Kansas City, MO, Rodney Jones Jr. and wife, Malisa of Mount Vernon, four great-grandchildren: Krista and Josh Koch and Chayna and Jenna Jones. She was preceded in death by here husband Leonard, June 8, 2007, six brothers and six sisters.
