August 4, 1942 --- December 7, 2000

George W. "Bill" Vinsant, 58, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at Trinity Regional Hospital, Fort Dodge. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. David B. Hammer officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery with military honors provided by the V.F.W. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Bruce's Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Survivors include his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Francis and Mildred Thul, Fort Dodge; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Richard and Pat Holst, Fort Dodge, Alan Thul, Fort Dodge, Ron Berns, Fort Dodge, and Darrel and Deb Jones, Yetter, Iowa; nieces Jodi Berns-Lennon and Melissa Holst, Fort Dodge; and nephews R. J. Berns, Eric Berns, and Bryan Holst, Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lena Porter Vinsant, former wife, Linda Vinsant, and sister-in-law, Sharon Berns.

George W. "Bill" Vinsant was born Aug. 4, 1942, in Fort Dodge. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He worked for Coats Manufacturing, National Gypsum, Mid-Continent Bottlers, and was a guard at Friskies when he retired due to illness in 1996. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
