Shirley L. Benda, 74, of Tempe, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2003 following a courageous battle with cancer. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Miles, of 52 years, three children and four grandchildren. Her life will be celebrated in a memorial service at First Congregational Church, 101 E. 6th St., Tempe, on Friday August 22nd at 2pm. Memorial contributions can be made to the Shirley Benda Memorial Scholarship Fund or Hospice of the Valley 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014. Contribution information and addresses will be available at the memorial service. Carr Tenney Mortuary handled arrangements.
