Ervin J. Meyer, 91, Latimer, died August 9, 2011 at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton. Services were held August 13 at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer. Ervin John Ernest, the son of Arthur and Mary Immerman Meyer, was born November 27, 1919 on the family farm north of Latimer. He attended country school. Ervin married Margaret Bessman on December 12, 1940. They made their home in the Latimer and Alexander area where they farmed and raised their family. He was a self-taught pilot and a member of the Flying Farmers of America and the Civil Air Patrol. He was preceded in death by his wife (2010); son-in-law Paul Armento III; and brother Ivan (2011). Ervin is survived by his children Lawrence (Janet) of Alexander and Marianne Armento of Springfield, IL; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
