Mrs. Harvey B. (Maud Alyce) Major, 66, died Wednesday evening at a Mason City hospital. She had made her home on Route 2 northeast of Mason City. Mrs. Major was born Nov. 2, 1895, at Belmond. She was a member of the First Methodist church, the Eastern Star and the White Shrine. Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Galyn L. (Eleanor) Peterson, Mason City; two sons, Robert and Max Major, both of Phoenix, Ariz., eight grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. William (Ada) Rice of Nebraska. Memorial services were scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Methodist church. Dr. George Truman Carl, pastor, and the Rev. Leroy Bauman, associate pastor, of the First Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The Major-Erickson Funeral Home is in charge.
