October 10, 1872 -- September 20, 1948

Charlotte Alvira Bullis, daughter of Charles and Charlotte Bullis was born at Belmond, Iowa, October 10, 1872. When she was an infant her mother died and she went to live with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. German Bullis.

In 1890, she was married to Fred Peebles. To this union were born five children, Gladys Ebbert of Palm Beach, Florida, George of Drakesville, Jared of Harris, New Jersey, Juel of Sacremento, California and Charlotte Jenkins of Mountain View, Arkansas. She was married in 1904 to Lafe Beggs of Bloomfield, Iowa. To this union were born five children, Ruth Vanderlinden of Promise City, Paul of Mission Texas, Howard of Edenburg, Texas, Laretta Horn and Rose Schlarbaum of Bloomfield. Besides her husband and children, she leaves 30 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and three stepsons, Glen Beggs of Bloomfield and Darrell and Ferrell Beggs of Des Moines.

She was a faithful wife and loving mother, and lived a life of service to others. She departed this life September 20, 1948 at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 10 days. Funeral services were held at the Curl Funeral Home on Thursday, September 23 at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. E.R. Davis. Laveta Davis and Grave Handkammer sang "Sweet Bye and Bye" and Jesus is Mine." Pallbearers were her grandsons, Max Schlarbaum, Wally Horn, Gene Peebles, Lauris Shepherd, Bob Smith and Willard Vanderlinden. Interment was at I.O.O.F cemetery, Bloomfield, Iowa.
