GOLDFIELD, IA - Avis L. Rasmussen, 72, of rural Goldfield, passed away July 20, 2011 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Renwick with the Rev. Christina Perkins officiating. Interment will be in Vernon Township Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Mrs. Rasmussen is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jerry Rasmussen of Renwick; sons, Steve (Nancy) Rasmussen of Vancouver, WA, and Kevin (Lisa) Rasmussen of Goldfield; grandchildren, Aaron, James, Peter, Joel (Nikki), Adam (Kayla) Rasmussen and Sarah Rasmussen; and her brother, Darrel (Karen) Barber of Onawa, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Gladys (Kuhn) Barber.
