November 30, 1850 --- June 21, 1930

Mrs. F. E. Comstock and her brother, Geo. Moore, accompanied the remains of Mrs. W. V. Moore from Dickey, ND, arriving in Hawarden Wednesday morning. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Comstock home with Rev. G. A. Patterson, pastor of the Baptist Church in charge. Interment was made in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Luna L. Miller was born Nov. 30, 1850 at Oswego, NY. She received her education at Oswego and completed a normal course. She then remained at home helping her mother in caring for a large family, she being the eldest of a family of five brothers and one sister. Later in life she left the East, making her home with a brother and family at Webster City, Iowa. She was united in marriage with Wm. V. Moore, Nov. 3, 1886, at Chicago, IL. At a very early age she was converted and united with the Methodist Church. Her life was one of sacrifice, always thinking of others rather than herself. Her character was that of a true Christian. She was a staunch W.C.T.U. worker and spent many years as a member and active worker in the Ladies' Aid. After her marriage she and her husband made their home at Eagle Grove, IA, but in 1889, they moved to Laurens. In 1902 they moved to North Dakota, making the trip in a covered wagon, locating on a farm four miles southeast of Dickey. After several years of hardships and active work they left the farm and made their home at Dickey until June 1, 1930, when her companion was taken home. She followed her husband in death in just 21 days, passing away June 21, 1930, at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 21 days. Her parents, four brothers and sister and her husband preceded her in death.

Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. & Mrs. W. J. Moore and son Russell and daughters, Helen and Margaret, of Janesville, Wis.; Mrs. Ott Graham of Ottumwa, IA, and Clark Miller of Des Moines.
