Dorothy Marie Jorgensen, the daughter of Arthur and Marie (Orr) Streitilmier, was born November 12, 1921. On September 28, 1940, Dorothy was united in marriage with Gordon Jorgensen of Holmes at Cameron, Missouri. The couple made their home in Holmes where they farmed until moving to Fort Dodge in 1959. Dorothy was a sales associate for J.C. Penney for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, sisters, Juanita Ralston and Elsie Thompson and brother Bernard.

Dorothy Marie Jorgensen, the daughter of Arthur and Marie (Orr) Streitilmier, was born November 13, 1921, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. Dorothy, her two sisters and a brother were raised by their grandparents, Fred and Cora Orr. She attended school in Eagle Grove.

On September 28, 1940, Dorothy was united in marriage with Gordon Jorgensen of Holmes at Cameron, Missouri. The couple made their home in Holmes where they farmed until moving to Fort Dodge in 1959. Dorothy was a sales associate for J.C. Penny for many years. She belonged to the J.C. Penny Ladies Retirement Luncheon Group.

Dorothy enjoyed gardening, flowers, feeding the birds, watching Wheel of fortune and baking for family and friends. She also loved giving Hibiscus plants to people and riding her tractor lawn mower. Dorothy and Gordon took many trips in their camper to the Lake of the Ozarks. Dorothy passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the Villa Care Center in Fort Dodge at the age of 89 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon in 1993; sisters, Juanita Ralston and Elsie Thompson and brother, Bernard Streitilmier. Survivors include a sister-in-law; brother-in-law; many nieces, nephews and their families and a very dear friend, Dorothy Ellsworth.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011, at the Foust Funeral Home in Goldfield, 602 North Washington, with Pastor Mike Agnew officiating with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
