Eliza Jane Wood was born in Washington county, New York, November 5, 1854, and died at Owasa, Ia., June 29, 1928. She grew to young womanhood in New York and came to Carroll county, Iowa in 1874. She was united in marriage to Charles Moore March 28, 1877 and moved to their farm in Sheridan township, one mile north of Lidderdale, and lived there until ten years ago. Since then she has lived in Glidden, Lidderdale and Belmond. Since the death of her husband last January she has lived with her daughters at Owasa and Spirit Lake. She leaves to mourn her loss three children, Mrs. Hattie Suhr of Spirit Lake, Howard of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Jessie Brugger of Owasa, five grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. John Bell of Glidden.
Mrs. Moore was a good neighbor, a kind mother and delighted in serving others. She was interested in all neighborhood activities. Before the days of the trained nurse she was often called upon to minister to the sick of her neighborhood. Mrs. Moore leaves a host of friends, and died believing she would meet her Savior face to face.
