Gruis Rites at Meservey
Ben H. Gruis, Meservey, died at his home Saturday and funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Meservey Reformed Church. The former pastor of the church, Rev. Kampman, now living in Ackley, officiated and Fulton Funeral home of Belmond was in charge. Burial was in Meservey cemetery. Casket bearers were Daniel Pals, Keith Dunton, Henry Boelman, Harm Groen, Albert Kuhler and George Kuhler. Mr. Gruis was engaged in farming, but lived in Meservey where he and his wife have a grocery store. He was born on Dec. 10, 1903, and died Sept. 29.

Services for B. H. Gruis Held at MeserveyMESERVEY, IA —Funeral services for B. H. (Bennie) Gruis, 52, were conducted at the Reformed Church. The Rev. E. R. Kampannan, Ackley, was in charge. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Gruis. Mr. Gruis was born and lived his entire life on a farm near Meservey. Survivors include his wife, the former Marie Albers; three sisters, Kate Dirks, Mrs. Hio (Anna) Goeman, Belmond, and Mrs. Kirk (Alma) Smith, Pomona, Calif., and two brothers, Carl, Des Moines, and Ed, Los Angeles, Calif. Mr. Gruis was preceded in death by a brother.
