Mankato resident Ellsworth Ulrich Bredlow, age 94, died Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato, MN. Service to be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness at 420 Marie LN, North Mankato, MN. Visitation is one hour prior to services.
Ellsworth was born August 27, 1916, in Klemme, IA, to Walter and Lavina (Ulrich) Bredlow. He married Norma Shockman on November, 16, 1946, in McGregor, MN. On October 10, 1942, Ellsworth was baptized and became a Jehovah’s Witness minister. He worked over 50 years as a concrete mason with his brother in law, Gerald. In his free time, Ellsworth enjoyed traveling, repairing watches and clocks, gardening, and spending time with his chickens and ducks. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Merle Bredlow; and brother-in-laws, Gerald Shockman, Frank Shockman, Ivan Shockman and Charles Martin. He is survived by wife, Norma Bredlow; sisters, Jean Shockman of Mankato and Lola Martin of Houston, TX; sister-in-law, Alice Bredlow of Clear Lake, IA; and many loved nieces, nephews, and friends.
