Linda Sue Mollenbeck, age 54, of Latimer died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the University Hospital and Clinic in Iowa City. Funeral services for Linda Mollenbeck will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the Immanuel United Church of Christ, 204 East South Street in Latimer. Pastor Linda Myren will officiate. Burial will take place in the Marion Center cemetery near Latimer.Visitation for Linda Mollenbeck was held from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Memorials may be made in Linda S. Mollenbeck’s name to the family. 

Linda Sue Mollenbeck, 50, of Latimer died peacefully at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa, on Saturday, April 16, 2011, after battling lymphoma for nearly one year. Linda Sue Brady was born on December 31, 1960, at Belmond Community Hospital in Belmond, Iowa, to Delmar and Martha (Bruns) Brady. She was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer and graduated from CAL Community High School in Latimer with the Class of 1980. On June 29, 1996, she married Todd Mollenbeck at Zion Reformed Church, rural Sheffield, Iowa. To this union two sons were born, Trevor, and Cody, who was stillborn on March 10, 1999. Linda passed away on Trevor’s 14th birthday. Linda worked at two restaurants in Hampton, Fay’s and the Viking; and then later provided in-home daycare to children in Latimer for seven years, and worked at CAL Community School as a teacher’s aide. She also enjoyed volunteering at the school; helped serve at Over 60’s Dinners in Latimer; assisted in folding the church newsletters; and taught Sunday School. Linda’s life centered around her family. She enjoyed canvas needlework, gardening, canning, cooking, and baking for her family, as well as for teachers, friends, and neighbors.

Linda is survived by her husband, Todd; her son, Trevor, both of Latimer; her father, Delmar Brady, of Sheffield; her brother, Doug (Michelle) Brady, of Sheffield; her mother-in-law, Norma (Dean) Miller, of Hampton; sisters-in-law, Cindy Lind, of Mason City, and Tami (Kevin) Ballhagen, of Sheffield; nephews, Mark (Holly) Brady, Michael (Angela) Brady, Blake Brady, Devyn Brady, Chris (Shannon) Lind, and Mark Ballhagen ; and nieces, Kylie Brady, Kelly Lind, Carley Ballhagen, Shelby Ballhagen ; and many other special relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Brady; son, Cody; father-in-law, Dale Mollenbeck; brother-in-law, Roger Mollenbeck; and nephew, Travis Ballhagen.
