The family moved to Sioux County, Iowa, in 1920, where Pearl lived the remainder of her life. On Jan. 3, 1935, she married her first and only love, Albert Timmer. She and Al were blessed with five children and farmed northwest of Sioux Center until 1962. Pearl worked as a nurses aide at Sioux Center Community Hospital. Later, she and Al purchased the House of Fashion, a woman's clothing store in downtown Sioux Center, which they operated for several years. Pearl lost her beloved Al to cancer in 1983. Her later years were devoted to her family, First Reformed Church Library, the Foster Grandparent Program and Hospice program. Pearl was a resident of Royale Meadows Care Center for the past 10 years.
