December 20, 1908 - August 1985

Mrs. Archie (Thelma) Williams, 76, Stanhope, died Tuesday afternoon at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines where she had been a patient for 13 days. She had been in failing health the past seven months. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. William Van Dam officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery. Friends may call at Foster’s after 5 o’clock tonight.

Thelma Leona Larson, daughter of Elmer and Leila Miller Larson, was born Dec. 20, 1908 at Webster City. She was educated in the Woolstock and Webster City schools. On Nov. 3, 1926, she was united in marriage to Archie Williams at Webster City, and the couple resided in Woolstock until 1936 when they moved to Stanhope where they had since lived.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters and two sons, Mrs. Leonard (Leona) Gordon, Newberry Springs, Calif., Donald R. Williams, Webster City, Mrs. Joe (Doris) Welling of Thousand Oaks, Calif. and Capt. Robert E. Williams of Bellevue, Neb.; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers and three sisters; John Larson and Mrs. Ordean (Marcella) Claude, both of Webster City, Dean Larson of Jewell, Elmer (Sonny) Larson, Jr., Clear Lake, Charles Larson, Goodell, Mrs. Raymond (Maxine) Draeger of Galt, Mrs. Carl (Laura) Duede, Amarillo, Texas. She was preceded in death by one grandson and her parents, two brothers and two sisters. She was a member of the Christian church at Stanhope.
