Mrs. J. W. Lee Obeys Final Summons
Died at home of her son A. J. Brewer old time resident of Cass TownshipMrs. J. W. Lee a long time resident of Cass Township died Thursday night [March 12, 1912] at 11:45 at the home of her son, A. J. Brewer, on First Street. She had been ill for about three months since which time she had made her home with her son and family. Her demise was the result of a general physical decline.
Harriet E. Frakes was a native of Illinois and was born May 25, 1838. The family moved to Hamilton county in 1853 and the deceased had been a continuous resident here since that time a period of fifty years. She was united in marriage with A. J. Brewer in this city in 1857. Two children were born to this union, A. J. Brewer of this city and A. W. Brewer now deceased. Her first husband died a little over two years after their marriage and on Nov. 4, 1859, in this city, she was joined in the holy bonds of wedded life with J. W. Lee, who joined the silent majority many years ago. Three children were born to this latter union all of whom survive the mother – P. W. Lee of this city; J. D. Lee, north of town; Q. M. Lee of Renwick.
The departed was a most excellent woman in all the relations of life as wife, mother, friend and neighbor. A large number of friends will mourn the death of this good woman, especially in the community where she had so long made her home. The funeral service will be held at the A.J. Brewer home this afternoon at 2 o’clock. Internment will be in the Cass Center cemetery.
