SUMNER, IA — Helen Louise Griesert, 85, of Sumner, died Sunday, Jan. 16, at Hillcrest Home, Sumner, of natural causes. She was born March 30, 1925, in Fredericksburg, daughter of Emil R. and Elsie Immermann Griesert. Ms. Griesert graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1943 and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sumner. She was an employee of the federal government for 39 1/2 years, living in Washington, D.C., Clarion and Manchester, retiring in 1986.

Survived by: a sister-in-law, Martha Griesert of Sumner. Preceded in death by: three brothers, Albert, Martin "Mike" and Robert Griesert; and an infant sister, Marie.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sumner, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Sumner, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
