Margaret (Hayward) Brady passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at the Fleur Heights Care Center in Des Moines Iowa. She was 88 and a half years old. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Glen Echo Christian Church. The Burial service will be at Glendale Cemetery.

Margaret was born on July 6, 1922 in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Esther Dawson. She graduated from Estherville High School, Estherville, Iowa in 1940. In 1942 she moved to Des Moines and worked at Iowa Pack and attended the American Institute of Business. On September 20, 1947 she was united in marriage to Albert L. Hayward. Albert preceded her in death in 1962. In later years, Margaret worked for IPERS, with the State of Iowa, until her retirement. On July 6, 1987 she was united in marriage to Orie A. Brady. Orie preceded her in death in 2001. Margaret was a charter member of Glen Echo Christian Church. She enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, cards, bowling with the grandchildren and watching Wheel of Fortune.

Margaret is survived by her children, David Hayward of Henderson, NV, Jona Aldrich of Earlham, IA and Jane (Jeff) Johnson of Carlisle, IA; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Albert L. Hayward and Orie A. Brady; son, Kip Hayward and three brothers, Richard, George and David Dawson.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2011 at Iles Funeral Homes - Westover Chapel. Memorial contributions may be directed to Glen Echo Christian Church, 4323 Douglas Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50310.
