MRS. ADAMS, AGE 66, DIES
Services for Local Woman to Be at United Brethren Church.
WAS WIDELY KNOWNMrs. W. D. Adams, widely known resident of this county, died at her home near Kendall Young park yesterday morning at 11:50 o'clock, death being caused by diabetes and complications. She had been seriously ill for the past two weeks, but had been in very poor health for a number of years.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock at the United Brethren church, preceded by a brief service at the home at 2 o'clock. The Rev. L. P. Church will officiate and burial will be made in Graceland cemetery, Foster's in charge.
Mrs. Adams leaves her husband and the following children Edgar Lee Adams, of Napa, Calif; Mrs. O. D. Ruhl, Mrs. F. E. Ruhl, T. E. Adams, Clarence and Oakley, all of this city: Mrs. H. C. Killingsworth, of Homer, and Stanley, of Sisters, Ore. Two children died in infancy. There are six sisters and two brothers—Mrs. Grant Vegers, of this city; Mrs. W. H. DeFrance, of Dodge Center, Minn.; Mrs. John McFarland, A. M. Myers, Mrs. Art Haney, Luther Myers and Mrs. Myron Fisher, of Webster City, and Mrs. Iva Myers, of Barnum. One brother, Will Myers, died two weeks ago. There are 32 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mary L. Myers was born Jan. 9, 1867, in the southern part of the county, near the Homer community. Her parents were Hannah and William Myers, pioneer residents of the county. She became a member of the United Brethren church when a young girl and was very active in all of the activities of the church as long as she was able. She was married Dec. 31, 1888, to W. D. Adams, and with the exception of eight years In Oklahoma, Mr. and Mrs. Adams spent their entire life in Iowa and most of it in this county. For many years Mr. Adams was a minister and she took a great interest in church work and was especially active in the Sunday school department of the churches of which Mr. Adams was pastor.March 20, 1933
