A memorial service will be held in the spring for Mary Marjorie (Harriger) Black, who passed away December 20, 2010 at the age of 88. Death came to Mary at Careage of Clarion. Mary was born October 22, 1923 to Homer H. Harriger and M. Veronica (Quigley) Harriger in Rolfe, Iowa. During her youth she resided in Elmhurst, Illinois and in Des Moines. She graduated from Des Moines East High School in 1942 and entered Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. Following her marriage to Harvey Black, she transferred to Radiology. After many years in Iowa, the family moved to California for 21 years, returning to Clarion after retirement.
Those left to cherish her memory are husband, Harvey, of Clarion, her daughter Gwendolyn of Clear Lake and her son Jerry and wife Ann of Stoughton, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harold Harriger.
