Cassius Severe, 92, of Bagley, Minnesota died on Monday, May 22, at the Greensview Nursing Home in Bagley. Cassius was born April 28, 1897, in Iowa. He married Blanche Mae Smith on January 1, 1920, at Galt, Iowa. They moved to Rice Township, Clearwater County in 1940 and moved to Bagley in 1950. Cassius was employed by the State of Minnesota Maintenance Department prior to his retirement. Blanche died January 24, 1969. On May 7, 1970, he married Myrtle Baum in Bagley. Myrtle preceded him in death on September 25, 1987. He is survived by two daughters, Eileen, Mrs. Roy Nelson, of Santa Cruz, Bolivia South America, Evelyn, Mrs. Tom Johnson of Tualatin, Oregon; three sons, LaVerne of Detroit, Michigan, Lyle of Rockwell, Iowa, Harold of Marshalltown, Iowa; Eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, May 26, at 10 a.m. at the Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Bagley with pastor John Heath officiating. Interment was in the Bagley City Cemetery with the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley in charge of arrangements.
