Mrs. Blanche Mae Severe, 69, passed away January 24, 1969 at the Clearwater [Minnesota] Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Severe had been in ill health for some months prior ot her passing. Mrs. Severe was born in Girard, Illinois on May 14, 1899 to parents Edward and Nellie Smith. Mrs. Severe was married to Cassius Severe in Galt, Iowa on January 1, 1920. The Severes lived in Iowa and South Dakota before coming to Clearwater County, Rice Township in 1940. They moved into Bagley in 1950 and have lived here since. Mrs. Severe was a very active member of the Congregational Church and leaves a host of friends and a church family where she was active in the work.
Surviving is her husband, Cassius, and the following children: LaVerne of Detroit, Michigan; Lyle of Rockwell, Iowa; Mrs. Roy Nelson (Eileen) of Portland, Oregon; and (Evelyn) Mrs. Tom Johnson of Sucre, Bolivia, South America. Two half brothers, Wallace Smith of Carmichael, California; Norman Smith of Lucerne, Missouri; five half sisters: Alice Powell of Rockwell, Iowa; (Lola) Mrs. Alden Davis of Colorado Springs, Colorado; (Virginia) Mrs. Wilfred Leer of Lebanon, Missouri; (Harriet) Mrs. Cato Lundt of Dougherty, Iowa; (Wilma) Mrs. Marvin Sletten of Nora Springs, Iowa; one uncle Jess Campbell of San Bernardino, California and two aunts: Roxie Davis and Nell Campbell of Girard, Illinois. 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 28th at 1 p.m. at the Congregational Church in Bagley, Minnesota with the Rev. Ronald Stegink officiating. The burial will take place at the Bagley City Cemetery under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home.
