William Trumblee Dies at Lamont

Lamont, Iowa -- November 19, 1931 - William Trumblee died at his home east of here Nov. 9, 1931. He was born at Hatinville, Mass., Aug. 19, 1846, was married to Miss Sarah Carmen in April 1876 at Boston, Mass., and they made their home in Kansas for twelve years. His later years were spent in this community. He leaves his widow, five sons, Charles of Waterloo, Harry of Manchester, Roy of Greely, Wm. Jr. of Lamont and Addison of Delaware; two daughters, Lelia Hersey of California and Mrs. Mary Kapke of Lamont; and 40 grandchildren. He engaged in the blacksmith trade for 40 years and was next to the oldest Mason in Iowa and a Civil War Veteran. Relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were his sons, Harry, Charles, Addison and Roy, and families; his son-in-law, George McNutt, of Belmond, Iowa, Messrs. And Mesdames Paul McCarty, Kenneth Thompson and Romoni Letts, Waterloo; Charles Kehrli, Ryan; Frank Redding, Delhi; Milton Hunke and Milton Henche, Dubuque. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at the M.E. Church of Lamont, Rev. J.W. Atkins officiating, and burial, under Masonic auspices, was made in the Campton cemetery. Members of the Masonic order, American Legion and W.R.C. attended the funeral in a body.

[Father of Katherine Georgianna Trumblee McNutt, wife of George McNutt of Belmond, Wright County, Iowa. Katherine was born November 26, 1882 and died May 31, 1917 in Belmond, Iowa]
