April 9, 1907 -- June 7, 2001

Albert R. Hammond, 94, of Austin, Minnesota died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at St. Mark's Lutheran Home where he lived. He was born April 9, 1907 to Benjamin and Carrie (Davis) Hammond. He married Mildred Koehler May 18, 1935 in Waseca. He farmed for many years in Mason City, Iowa, and Kanawha, Iowa, and in Austin then worked in real estate in Brownsdale. He belonged to the Rotary Club, loved to read and fish, and golf at The Oaks Golf Course in Hayfield. Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Edna Lauen, Belmond, Iowa; Viola Bredlow, Garner, Iowa; nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred; six brothers and four sisters. Service: 2:30 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2001, at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Robert A. Morgan officiating. Casket bearers will be Allen Bredlow, Roger Koehler, Wayne Koehler, David Alme, Robert Gerlach and Gary Alme. Visitation: Friends may call one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment: Grandview Cemetery.
