Winston S. Weber.—Passed away April 30, 1978, Spokane, WA. His home, Odessa, WA. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn, at the home; one son, Dr Stanley Weber, Albuquerque, NM; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Gus Weber, Odessa, WA; two sisters, Mrs. Jeanne Storer, Seattle, WA; Mrs. Eleanore Stewart, Pasco, WA; numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, American Legion Honor Guard, past president & charter member of Odessa Lions Club, lifetime member of Odessa Fire Dept, past president of Pacific Northwest Grain Dealers Assn, charter member of Odessa Golf Assn. Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, May 3, 1978, 10 a.m. from the chapel of Strate Funeral Home, Davenport, WA. Father A Flour officiating. Military graveside services at 11:30 a.m., Odessa Cemetery. Mr. Weber will lie-in-state at Strate Funeral Home, Odessa, WA, Tuesday evening, May 2nd.

Weber, who had been on the job as manager of the Odessa Union Warehouse this past week, died on April 30, (1978) after complications of advanced cancer set in early Saturday. He was taken by ambulance to the Sacred Heart Medical Center, Spokane, Saturday morning. A native of Odessa, Winston was born here on June 1, 1920, the son of Gus and Ida Weber. He served in the Aleutians during World War II, returning to Odessa to work in the post office. He was married to Kathryn McLaughlin of Belmond, Iowa, on June 21, 1947. In 1951 Weber transferred from the post office to the Odessa Union Warehouse where he has been employed for 27 years. In 1960 he was named manager of the firm and was serving in that capacity at the time of his death. Mr. Weber will lie in state at the Strate Funeral Home here Tuesday evening. Funeral services were held from the Strate Chapel in Davenport at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, Fr Anton Flour officiating. Military graveside services were held at the Odessa Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn, at the home; one son, Dr Stanley Weber, Albuquerque, NM; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Weber, Odessa; two sisters, Mrs. Jeanne Storer, Seattle; Mrs Eleanore Stewart, Pasco; numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, American Legion Honor Guard, past president of Odessa Chamber of Commerce, past president and charter member of Odessa Lions Club, lifetime member of Odessa Fire Dept, past president of Pacific Northwest Grain Dealers Assn, charter member of Odessa Golf Association.
