Beverly Kay Lane was born November 13, 1928 in Carroll, daughter of Nathan R. and Marion M. (Hoffman) Yarbrough. She grew up in the Auburn area moving to Renwick at an early age. Bev graduated from Renwick High School in 1946, and she then obtained a journalism associate degree from Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri.

Bev was united in marriage to Joseph L. Lane on June 27, 1948 at the United Methodist Church in Renwick. They farmed southwest of Renwick moving into Renwick in 1983 and continued to farm. Bev was an avid reader; she enjoyed writing poetry, spending time in her garden, and listening to books on tape. Bev loved being with her family especially the time spent together at the cabin in Minnesota. In earlier years, she also enjoyed dancing and doing crossword puzzles. Bev was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Cosmo Club, and the Renwick United Methodist Church. In May, 2010, Bev and Joe moved into Belle Haven Assisted Living in Belmond. Beverly K. Lane died Friday, October 8, 2010 at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond at the age of 81.

She is survived by her husband Joe Lane of Belmond; three children, Steve Lane and his wife Becky of Alexander, Jeff Lane and his wife Nicolette of Indianola, and Linda Ryan and her husband Michael of Manchester; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Yarbrough and his wife Bernadette of Kirkland, WA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Marvyl Yarbrough; and two brothers, Robert O’Rourke and Roger Yarbrough.
