Michael George Fisch was born May 20, 1947, in Algona, son of Matt and Alvina (Weig) Fisch. Mike grew up in Algona and moved to South Beloit, Illinois at a young age where he held various jobs. Later Mike and his family moved to Vista, Arizona where he lived until 1985, when he returned to Algona. Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on the computer, and going to stock car races.

Michael George Fisch died Thursday, January 8, 2004, at the Kossuth Regional Healthcare Center, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 56. He is survived by five children, Mike Jr., Brian, Matt, Nancy, and Jim; his mother, Alvina Fish, Algona; a sister, Kathy Shear, South Beloit, IL; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Pete, in infancy.

ALGONA, IA — Michael George Fisch, 56, of Algona, died Thursday (Jan. 8, 2004) at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home in Algona. Inurnment will be in the Corwith Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
