Charlotte M. Madole, 95, of Webster City, died peacefully Sunday, September 5, 2010 at her home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City with Rev. Stephen Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with the Rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m.
Charlotte Marita Larson, daughter of William and Rita Harrington Larson was born on February 27, 1915 in Britt, Iowa. She graduated from Britt Senior High School in 1932. Charlotte attended one year at the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. On July 6, 1940, she married Glen William Madole at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Britt, Iowa. The couple resided in Dows for two years, and following Mr. Madole's discharge from WWII, the couple moved to Belmond. In 1952, the family moved to Webster City where they owned and operated the Madole Plumbing and Heating Business. Mr. Madole died on April 1, 1966.
Survivors include her son, Tom Madole of Webster City; daughter, Rita Bemis of Excelsior Springs, MO; three grandchildren, Kristin (Mike) Reyes of West Des Moines, Scott (Ashley) Madole of Norwalk, Danny (Elonna) Bemis of Lawson, MO; and 9 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Glen, she was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, 2 sisters; and son-in-law, Larry Bemis. Charlotte was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City.
