Shannon Dunfee was born April 15, 1873 in Laurence county Ohio, the son of George Dunfee and Permalia Harmon. He moved from Ohio to Tuscola, Ill., where he resided three years and then moved to Corwith, Iowa. After 19 years there he moved to Lyle, where he made his home 35 years. Mr. Dunfee was engaged in farming. Only [On] July 3, 1907 he was united in marriage to Maggie Farrell at Algona, Iowa.
Mr. Dunfee died May 28, [1954] at 1003 N. Kenwood, Austin, after being ill two years. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. June 1, at the Worlein Funeral Home, the Rev. Delmont Gordy officiating. Interment was in the Woodbury Cemetery. Mr. Dunfee is survived by his wife Maggie; three step-children, Eva Dunfee, Corwith Iowa; Erwin Farrell, Marseilles, Ill.; and Raymond Farrell, Lyle; a brother Clarence Dunfee, Rockyford Colo.; three sisters, Amizon Earls, Britt Iowa; Sarah Wilson, Alhambra, Calif.; and Laura Bunting, Clear Lake, Iowa.
Person attending the funeral came from Minneapolis, Grandville, N.D., Clear Lake, Mason City, Britt, Corwith, Kanawha, Correctionville, Waterloo, Fort Dodge, Humboldt, Algona, Miller, Iowa, Marseilles, LaGrange, and Macomb, Ill.
