April 22, 1887 -- April 3, 1974

EVA GREGSON SERVICES HELD

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home for Eva M. Gregson, 86, of Grinnell. Mrs. Gregson, the widow of Leo. E. Gregson, died Wednesday morning, April 3, at Friendship Manor. She was born April 22, 1887, the daughter of Willis E. and Zulema Larimore Hutchison, in Ogallala, Neb. She was married to Leo E. Gregson in Grinnell on Feb. 14, 1918. Following their marriage, the couple farmed near Corwith, Ia. In 1931 they moved to Grinnell. Mrs. Gregson was a member of the Grinnell First United Presbyterian Church, the D.U.V.'s, the O.B.C. Club, and the Helping Hands Club. She also attended the Friend's Missionary Society.

Survivors include her six children, Donald E. of Livermore, Cal., Mrs. Edith Foster of Webster City, Ia., Willard L. of Algona, Ia., Mrs. Glenn (Lavell) Cashmere of Brigham City, Utah, Mrs. Ernest (Opal) Bonstetter of Corwith, Ia., and Kenneth W. of Mason City, Ia.; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, Raymond Hutchinson of Newton, Miss Lottie Hutchison of Iowa City, Carl Hutchison of Portland, Ore., Arthur Hutchison of Okalhoma City, Okla., Mrs. Zula Bailey of West Liberty, Ia., and Mrs. Mildred Vulsteke of Iowa City; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; two sons Robert in infancy and Cecil C. in 1956; one grandchild; one brother, Herbert Hutchison; and two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Wright and Mrs. Mary Peters.

The Rev. Daniel Ogata of the Grinnell First United Presbyterian Church officiated at the services. Music was provided by Mrs. Eugene Holley, organist. Casketbearers were Melvin Adams, Larry German, Charles M. Manly, Loring Rohr, Donald Souter, and Leonard Souter. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Montezuma.
