21 January 1942 -- 12 November 2008

Bonnie Masdea, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the age of 66 surrounded by her loved ones. Bonnie leaves behind her husband of 44 years, John Masdea; her daughters, Chrissie (John) Landolfi and Cheri (Jamie) Wiles; her sons, John (Chantelle) Masdea and Michael (Jodi) Masdea; her grandsons, Johnny, Dante and Marco Landolfi; her granddaughters, Brogan Wiles and Heston Masdea; her sister, Darlene (Larry) Bloomquist; her brothers, Bruce (Tammy), Paul (Debbie) and Rodney Friesth. She is preceded in death by her parents Bertram and Ruth Friesth and her brother Roger Friesth. A farm girl from Badger, Iowa, Bonnie went to school with her brothers and sister in a one-room school house before beginning a life full of adventure and a life-long love of travel. She left Iowa for New York City where she worked as a "hostess" for TWA, flying domestic and international. She thoroughly enjoyed all of her adventures, especially the adventure that began when she met a businessman named John on a flight from Columbus to Chicago. John asked Bonnie to an Ohio State football game and after two years of courting asked for her hand in marriage. Over the next 44 years, they dedicated their lives to each other and their four wonderful children. Bonnie wanted everyone to know what a great and happy life she lived. She deeply valued her personal relationships, holding her family and her faith especially dear. She was a wonderfully loving wife, mother and grandmother who was the "love" that glued her tight-knit family together. Never a day would pass that she wouldn't tell her family how much she loved them and how proud they made her. Bonnie never met a stranger and her radiant personality attracted many lifelong friends. While she will be greatly missed, her spirit and zest for life will live on in her husband, children and grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, on SUNDAY, November 16, 2008 from 1-4 p.m. A Celebration of Bonnie's Life will be held at 10 a.m. on MONDAY, November 17, 2008 at the Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, 2300 Lytham Rd. FRIENDS ARE ASKED TO MEET AT THE CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 870 Michigan Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43215, Caring Bridge or Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital.
