MADISON, WI - Arnold W. "Arnie" Hansen, age 91, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2009, at Meriter Hospital. He was born on August 18, 1918, in Badger, Iowa , the second son of Nels Christian and Ada (Nelson) Hansen. Arnie married Kathyleen Nobens, on April 26, 1941. He served in the Army/ Air Force, as a first lieutenant, during World War II, as a B24 navigator in the European Theater. Arnie was a salesman for Bridgeport Brass, for many years, and then owned his own business continuing to sell brass, aluminum and copper, until his retirement in 1987. Arnie loved to fish, golf, read, travel, and enjoy family and friends. He especially loved taking care of Kathy, his wife.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Kathyleen of Madison; son, John (Fran) of Evanston, Ill.; daughter, Chris (Doug) Campion-Crawford of Madison; grandchildren, Jennifer (Adam) Marcus, Bryan (Carrie), Michelle Campion, Brodie Campion, and Gina Campion; four great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Marvin. A funeral service will be held at JOYCE-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 5701 Odana Road, on Friday, November 20, 2009, at 2 p.m. Burial to immediately follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 p.m., until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Robert Olson and the nurses at Meriter Hospital, for their kind and considerate care.
