MESERVEY, IA -- Mrs. Lois M. Wilson, 77, of Meservey, died Tuesday (Nov 12, 1996) at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Kermit Roisen of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be given to the Lois M. Wilson Memorial Fund.

Lois was born Oct. 8, 1919, in Cerro Gordo county, the daughter of Lewis and Lydia (Hoppe) Kennedy. She attended and graduated from Meservey High School in 1937. Lois married Robert "Jim" Wilson on Feb. 17, 1939, in Mason City. They farmed south of Ventura and later operated Jim's Restaurant in Crystal Lake. They moved south of Ventura and later to Meservey. She loved to do gardening, canning and crocheting.

Lois is survived by her husband, Robert "Jim" Wilson of Meservey; daughter, Carlene Wilson, Meservey; three sisters, Luella Marshall; Lorene Haddy and her husband, Frank, and Lucille Anderson and her husband, Carroll, all of Clear Lake; one brother, Lloyd Kennedy and his wife, Sally, of Clear Lake; three sisters-in-law, Marie Hamann of Ventura; Phyllis Kennedy, Clear Lake, and Lucille Wilson of Ventura; one brother-in-law, Bill Wilson and his wife, Elsie, of Ventura; one grandson, Doug Wilson of Meservey; and one great-grandson, Michael Wilson of Clear Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Roger Dean Wilson on Sept. 2, 1996; one brother, Leonard "Dude" Kennedy; and one sister, Loretta Neal.
