CLEAR LAKE, IA -- Roger Dean Wilson, 57, of 15395 Oakwood Ave., Bayside, died Monday (Sept. 2, 1996) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Dean Hess of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and one hour before services at the church on Thursday. The family suggests memorials to the Roger Dean Wilson Memorial Fund.
Roger was born Aug. 2, 1939, in Belmond, the son of Robert Jim and Lois (Kennedy) Wilson. He attended school in Ventura, Crystal Lake, and graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1957. Roger served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He loved to fish and hunt. He also was a general handyman.
Roger is survived by his father and mother, Robert and Lois Wilson of Meservey; daughter, Christine Marie; sister, Charlene Wilson of Meservey; nephew, Doug Wilson, and great-nephew, Michael Wilson, both of Meservey; seven uncles and aunts, Luella Marshall; Lloyd Kennedy and his wife, Sally; Lorene Haddy and her husband, Frank, and very special uncle, Carroll Anderson and his wife, Lucille, all of Clear Lake; and Marie Hamann, Bill Wilson and his wife, Elsie, and Lucille Wilson, all of Ventura. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
