Services for Ben Moats were held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Sept. 21 at the Foster Funeral home at Webster City. Burial was in the French cemetery near Woolstock. Mr. Moats, 57, died at his home Thursday. He had been in ill health since June, but death was sudden, being attributed to a heart attack. Benjamin George Moats was born May 6, 1906, in Clay County, Ill. When he was a young boy, he moved with his parents to Iowa, locating on a farm near Williams, residing there several years before moving to a farm near Woolstock. He was united in marriage April 14, 1928 to Edna Caquelin, and the couple farmed in the Clarion vicinity for several years, then moved to the Woolstock community. In 1943 the family moved to Webster City where Mr. Moats has since been employed as a salesman at the Montgomery Ward store. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Feller of Clarion and two sons, Lidon Moats of Waverly and Leland Moats of Ames. Also surviving are six giand children and two brothers. Mr. Moats was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church.
