GREENE, IA -- Marie Van Horn, 95, died Saturday (Nov. 30, 1996) at the Liebe Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday at Reid's Funeral Chapel, where there will be a public scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Marie Van Horn Memorial Fund at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Greene or to the family.

Carrie Marie Kusian Van Horn was born Sept. 6, 1901, near Alexander in Franklin County. Survivors include three daughters, Helen Wiebke, Evelyn Wells and Wanda Johnson, all of Greene; one son, Dale Van Horn of Fort Collins, Colo.; one sister, Minnie Rover of Charles City; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and five great-grandchildren.
