Eldo Louis Knoke Sr., 84, of 323 Hughes St., Woodruff, S.C., formerly of Motor Boat Club Rd., Greenville, S.C., died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, in National Health Care, Boiling Springs Rd., Greer, S.C. Born and reared in Klemme, Iowa, he was the husband of the late Ada Marie C. Knoke and a son of the late Louis Henry and Mattie Schwartz Knoke. He retired from Iowa Manufacturing Co. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a subsidiary of Raytheon Corporation. He served with the 26th Infantry Division, Third Army, U.S. Army Artillery Corps. He was a member of Council No. 1668, 4th Degree Member Assembly, American Legion James F. Daniel Post 3 and St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Janette K. Schmatt, Marion, Patricia K. Foster, Cedar Rapids, Pamela K. Kral, Iowa City, and Jerelyn K. Duttlinger, South Jordan, Utah; four sons, Eldo L. "Chip" Knoke Jr., Greenville, S.C., Eldon E. "Biff" Knoke, Woodruff, S.C., Kevin Colgan Knoke, Taylors, S.C., and Roland C. Knoke, Greer, S.C.; a brother, LuVerne E. Knoke, Mason City; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. The funeral services will be conducted at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, Greenville, S.C., at 10 a.m. Saturday, with burial in Greenville Memorial Gardens. A vigil service begins at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family is at their respective homes.
