Ethel M. Meyer, 89, died March 30, 2003 at the Concord Care Center in Garner. Services were held April 3 at the Klemme United Methodist Church with burial in Ell Township Cemetery. Ethel Mildred was born May 10, 1913 in Des Moines, the daughter of Arthur and Emma Ludeke Schoenwetter. She graduated from Klemme High School. She married Herman Meyer in 1933 in Galena, IL and they farmed west of Klemme for 51 years. Ethel lived on the farm until 1994 when she moved to Garner. She entered the care center in 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984 and son Alvin in 1990. Survivors include daughter Lorraine Buckley of Forest City, son Herman Richard (Patricia) Meyer of Cedar Rapids, and Jean (Dennis) Hansen of Whiteville, NC.
