Luella E. Greenfield, 81, of Sheffield, died Monday, July 8, 2002 at the Hampton Health Care Center. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 11, at Grace Baptist Church in Sheffield with burial at the Alexander Cemetery. Luella was born March 2, 1921 near Rockwell, the daughter of Carl and Helena (Hotts) Schroeder. She attended country schools in the Sheffield area. On November 10, 1940 Luella married Frederick W. Greenfield at Lohrville, IA. They made their home on a farm in the Alexander area. In 1991 Luella and Fred moved to Sheffield. Luella was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Ida, Anna and Lena; brothers, Carl, George and Hans. Luella is survived by her husband of Sheffield; son Steven (Barbara) Greenfield of Altoona; daughter Linda (Ron) Herdliska of Ely; brothers Walt Schroeder of Thornton, Leo (Nelsine) Schroeder of Sheffield, Gerald Schroeder of Redlands, CA; and sister Gretchen Amsbaugh of Cambridge.
