Former Belmond resident died August 20 in California.

Charleen A. Marshall, 69, a 50-year resident of Indio, CA, died August 20, 2000, at home. Memorial services were held Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Indio. Interment was at Riverside National Cemetery. She was born May 20, 1931, to Arthur and Jessie Richardson Beisell in Santa Barbara, CA. She was a homemaker and an active member of the Indio Women's Golf Club and First United Methodist Church in Indio. Preceding her in death were her husband, Leonard in 1995. Survivors are her son, Lawrence of Round Rock, TX; her daughter, Pamela Novell of Fontana, CA; two brothers, Earl Beisell of Iowa, and Douglas Beisell of Minnesota; three sisters, Cleone Houseman of Chino, CA, Lois Cutbrith of Iowa, and Connie Freitmark of Wisconsin; and eight grandchildren. Charleen was a 1949 BHS graduate and lived with an uncle and aunt, Cuddy and Marian Didio.
