Laurine M. Proctor, 83, of Sheffield, formerly of Clear Lake, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at the Sheffield Care Center. Laurine M. Park was born January 11, 1918, north of Ventura to Anton and Elsie (Holiatz) Park. She was baptized as an infant and attended country school. Laurine was confirmed at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Garner, April 24, 1932. On November 3, 1939, she was united in marriage with Thomas R. Proctor in Garner. They farmed in the Swaledale area and the Meservey area after 1960. In 1976, they retired and moved to Clear Lake. Thomas died in 1981. In October 1993 she moved to the Sheffield Care Center where she had lived since. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aide.

Laurine is preceded in death by her parents; and husband. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin R. and Jane Proctor of Mason City, Marty A. and Shirley Proctor of Thornton, Duane and Jewel Proctor of Carroll; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ardell VanOsten of Meservey; nine grandchildren, Alanna Proctor, Mark Proctor, Robin VanOsten, Sandy VanOsten, Matthew Proctor and his wife Janet, Amy Proctor and a special friend, Chad Slagle, Nathan Proctor, Rachel Proctor and Kellie Proctor; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Spencer Proctor; one sister, Lula Read of Clear Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
