Russell Fredrick (Buster) Hupp was born November 28, 1898 in Sheridan, IL and died September 14, 1970 in Webster City, IA. He was educated in Cass Township in the Hamilton County schools and united in marriage to Ruth Hemminger on December 31, 1919. The couple farmed north of Webster City for 36 years before moving into Webster City in 1955. He was a member of the Church of Christ, the Selective Service Board, the Masonic Lodge, the Order of Eastern Star, Hope Chapter, the Commandery and was active in Farm Bureau work. He was also a former School Board Director and had worked in the County Assessor’s Office.
In addition to his wife, he was survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Nadine and Tom Wadsworth of Des Moines, IA; his daughter and son-in-law, Ardys and Howard Boston of Nevada, IA; his daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Robert Worley of San Antonio, TX; his son and daughter-in-law, Harley and Beverly Hupp of Webster City, IA, and his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Peter Humlicek of Oceanside, CA; 15 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was also survived by his sister, Mrs. Fred (Hila) Stein, and his sister, Mrs. W. J. (Clara) Carmichael, both of Webster City. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter; his parents, Fredrick E. and Mary Elizabeth (Brannen) Hupp of Webster City; and two sisters. Burial in Cass Center Cemetery, Webster City.
